7/25 and 26. I had him out for a graze each day. He didn't rear once and seems quite relaxed. Excellent. Ashlie is going to take him out for a graze tomorrow as I will be at home for some much needed rest.
7/23/08 Another rope halter day and he is getting the hang of keeping his feet on the ground, which I endorse. He grazed for a nice while.
7/22/08 I put the rope halter on him and proceeded outside. He let loose with a few rears and quickly figured out that wasn't really a good plan. After that we had a relatively sedate and enjoyable grazing period. Good boy.
7/21/08 Due to having a flat tire on the way home from KC, I was not able to get him out on Sunday. Not surprisingly, when I got him out today, he was quite the cheeky monkey. He got better and better and enjoyed his time out.
7/16/08 I had some minor disasters going on so didn't make it out to see him Monday and Tuesday. When I got him out today, he let me know that he missed his "out" time. He was as polite as he could be, but it was challenging. Very much wanted to play. I had to laugh. He got better, though.
7/13/08 Grazed in the late evening. He was pretty good, just a few moments of goofiness, but seemed to be happy to get out.
6/28/08 Hand grazed in the afternoon. He was a bit of a pill, but got over himself.
6/27/08 Hand grazed in the evening where he was an angel again.
6/26/08 Hand grazed him where he was an angel. Then Sarah emailed me and told me he had the long term sedative today. It works.
6/11/08 Met with Sarah in the mornig to examine and re-wrap Simon's leg. Worked with the vet to discuss whether the wound is on the right track. Set up appointment and met with Sarah and the evening to decide what to do with the vet. Advised about what first aid items to buy. Set up plan for getting him to the clinic tomorrow.
6/8/08 It was pouring rain when I went out to pony him, so I lunged him at a walk for 20 minutes. He was a bit of a pill at first, but figured out the program quickly. Afterwards we had a nice graze.
6/6/08 Ponying session with Doc. Just one minor moment that he got over quickly.
4/27/08 Brought him in and had a discussion on the way about politely leading. He wants to go as fast as he wants to go, regardless of his handler. I tacked up and got on. We did some walking to warm up as he felt a little stiff on his left hind, but he came out of it nicely and on we went to trot and canter work. He is quite tight in his poll, but it got better and better. We ended up cantering over some ground poles in a bounce which he thought was way fun. I let him graze some delicious grass for a few minutes on the way back to the paddock.
