7/5/06 Much work on the indoor on proper response to rein aids in walk. Some nice work.
6/13/06 More work on responding lightly to rein aids and discouraging her from lying on the reins. We did many serpentines in walk and trot and by the end she was much more relaxed, especially in her throatlatch, during the change in bend. Excellent.
6/12/06 Rode her in the indoor, asking her to come unlocked in her throatlatch. It took some real work, but she did come through and actually calmly chew the bit, which was very nice. Then she produces some very through walk work. Very good!
6/6/06 Rode in the indoor, with Rhonda observing. Worked a lot in wak to get her to stop lying on the left rein. Then on to trot and canter. Some discussion over jumping into the bridle in transitions and moving forward off the leg into canter transitions. She did very well.
6/2/06 Chiropractic adjustment went well. Her atlas was out and when it was adjusted, she was obviously relieved. Everything else looked good. I rode her before the chiropractor came out and had good success in her coming through her body in walk and some trot. Very good.
6/1/06 Rode in the indoor at a walk focusing on her letting go in her neck, carrying herself and being light to the aids. It was quite a paradigm shift day for Missy.
Tacked up and intended to ride in the arena, but she was so resistant to leading aids that we had a session entirely on leading politely and giving to rein pressure, including stretching down. She did not want to give up alpha mare status to some punk biped trainer. She figured it out and we came to an agreement between the queens.
